On July 5th we headed back up the mountain to Flagstaff and then west to Laughlin, Nevada. This was a one night boogie stop and when we arrived it was 102 degrees with a hot wind blowing. We plugged into the 50amp power and cranked up the A/C units and packed it in for the night. Laughlin is on the Arizona/Nevada border along the Colorado River. There is a lot of recreation here and of course the casinos. We didn't venture anywhere.
We drove to Valencia Ca. to a campground we have stayed in twice before. It is about an hour from LA and between two highways but still a nice spot. The next day we headed to Simi Valley about 45 minutes away to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
The library sits on the top of a high bluff with a great view of the surrounding area. It is a very beautiful setting. The library was very interesting and we enjoyed it very much. One of the coolest things was the Reagan Air Force One. It is a 707 jet inside the building. Really neat. The displays brought back all that was accomplished during the Reagan Presidency and what a remarkable man he was. We need another Reagan in todays political climate. We had a great time.
On July 9th we headed out to Yosemite Pines RV park which is northwest of the park. Read the next post to get the details on our ride. I will post all the pictures after I have brought the posts up to date.
