CCRC and Clarion July 31, 2023

We went the past three days without phone service or workable internet at the campground. It's really different when you can't communicate the way your used to. We went to Pa. to tour two CCRC's (Continuous Care Retirement Communities). We have been looking at this possibility for the future for some time and the location near Lancaster Pa. would put us near extended family and back to Pa. That is a plus and a minus (family good , cold winters, bad) We really like Willow Valley and need to come back soon to investigate further. We had dinner with Carol and Skip and Butch and Ginny. Butch and Ginny live in Willow Valley and they were kind enough to give us the inside story. They love it here.

In addition to the CCRC places, we visited my sister and friends that live in Willow Valley. This part of Pa. is in the Amish farms area and is very beautiful and Lancaster is an up and coming city. Once you figure out the back roads it is easier to get around. We also visited Carol and Skip's new digs at their CCRC community.Very, very nice and they seem very happy with the decision they made to move here.

Today we boogied to Wentlings Corners Pa. This campground is very near my hunting property. I met up with the guys who own the property behind me and we walked the land this afternoon. I got my fix of Penn's Woods. I won't be hunting this year so I'm really happy we were able to stop here. Tomorrow we head to Ohio to visit Cuyahoga Valley NP. We have been very busy up til now so the real trip West begins tomorrow. I do LOVE where we are tonight I've been coming here to deer hunt for over 50 years. Tomorrow we head to Ohio. Will try to post more pictures as we move WEST.
